I had a .co.uk domain name with Go Daddy. However I wanted to transfer it AWAY from GoDaddy and onto our own server.
I had tried several times to contact them ; email, phone etc and they never seemed to understand what changing an IPS tag was, let alone how to do it. Usually this can be done online, by logging into your account. Its easy with 123reg to amend the IPS tag for instance.
The problem seems to lie with .co.uk . The Amercian web companies usually deal with .com domain names and transferring a .com domain is done using a different process.
The solution to this problem is that you can alter the IPS tag yourself by logging onto Nominet.
Nominet are one of the world’s leading internet registry companies. They manage the .uk domain space. Their public purpose agenda and work closely with national and international organisations “to find ways of making the internet a better and more secure place.”
There is a charge of £10 plus vat to transfer a domain name and the link to the tranfer a .co.uk domain name page is: http://www.nominet.org.uk/uk-domain-names/manage-your-domain/transfer
Of course the alternative is to call us on 01422 230202 for some friendly advice
